Venlo opens business desk over corona virus
In the municipality of Venlo, uncertainty among entrepreneurs is well felt.
The closure of all catering establishments, the loss of work for large and small entrepreneurs and the disappearance of assignments for self-employed workers is putting a lot of pressure on Venlo society.
This pressure and uncertainty is recognised and acknowledged by the Venlo municipality and the interest groups directly involved.
An entrepreneurs' desk will therefore also be opened for all entrepreneurs in Venlo from tomorrow morning, 19 March. Via ondernemersloket@venlo.nl or via the central telephone number 14077, the counter can be reached.
Entrepreneur desk open from tomorrow
This entrepreneurs' desk is for all entrepreneurs in Venlo municipality. Support is provided for questions about business and the measures taken both nationally and locally to help entrepreneurs. If necessary, a visit is made and questions are dealt with in person.
This includes pointing out all national measures and opportunities, and how to find them. Additional talks are also being held with business collectives to monitor the constantly changing situation and support them where possible.
Councillor Erwin Boom: "It is good to see all parties joining hands at this difficult time. Business collectives and interest groups are now working side by side with the municipality to streamline correct information and help each other where possible. The strength now lies in collectivity and acting together on this. As a municipality, we therefore want to facilitate as much as possible towards the national measures."
Local charges
In addition, there are a number of local measures that can directly relieve the entrepreneur.
Through the BSGW, a suspension can be requested on an individual basis for deferred payment of local taxes. The BSGW is also busy coordinating this centrally.
In addition, the municipality will look at its own outstanding liabilities with local entrepreneurs and the possibilities of paying them early.
On the Venlo Municipality's site there is information - specifically for entrepreneurs - which will be supplemented in the coming days with additional information, tips and frequently asked questions.
Alderman Roest: "For business owners who face liquidity problems now or in the near future, we are working hard behind the scenes to find solutions. For instance, we are currently looking at possible postponements for all our local taxes and are having discussions with the BSGW on this, among others."
Collaborations
From Venlostad.com, BIZ Tegelen, BIZ Blerick, Ondernemend Venlo, Koninklijke Horeca Nederland and MKB Limburg, various actions and measures are being taken to help entrepreneurs. For instance, starting this afternoon, MKB is hosting a Webinar on alternative opportunities within entrepreneurship, and via the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/HorecaHelpt tips exchanged. For this too, the municipality is working with Venlo Partners to provide comprehensive information. As soon as this is available, it will be mentioned on the municipal site.
These are also exceptional times that call for exceptional measures for the Venlo municipality, entrepreneurs' associations and interest groups, but especially for all entrepreneurs in Venlo. With information changing daily, the municipality is working with all parties to stay in dialogue with entrepreneurs and provide support and guidance where necessary.
Entrepreneurs can direct their queries to the entrepreneurs' desk, which will be open from 19.03.2020. The entrepreneur desk can be reached through the mail address: ondernemersloket@venlo.nl or by calling 14 0 77.
