On 28 August, there was another major fire at Tradeport, this time at waste processor Renewi on Ampèrestraat.
Entrepreneurial Venlo has its full attention on these fires. We are in close communication with the fire brigade, police and municipality regarding KVO-B.
Analysis of events is done in the KVO-B security working groups together with entrepreneurs. We also have cameras on the business parks through Safe Venlo.
First, we are very happy that there were no injuries. No connection between the 3 fires is assumed.
- AHC: concerns a technical defect
- Collin: arson is assumed here
- Renewi: cause still unclear, this is under investigation.
The investigation into the causes of the fires lies with the police. Entrepreneurial Venlo has every confidence in the investigation by the fire brigade and police. If our camera images can help, we will of course fully cooperate.
