VENLO - Holland Casino is investing heavily in the construction of new casinos this year. After Utrecht, a new branch will also be built in Venlo. Holland Casino's aim is for the building itself to become a landmark in Venlo.
As the casino market opens in 2021 for both online casino and regular casinos, Holland Casino is grabbing a head start now. The new casino in Venlo will be housed in a beautiful iconic building. Due to its location, the new Holland Casino will undoubtedly also attract many German tourists.
The building was designed by MVSA Architects in collaboration with Arcadis and Gensler. Together, they have ensured that the new building will be an eye-catcher in Venlo! The building has been given the shape of a flower. The entire outside of the building will be fitted with LED lighting. As a result, nobody can drive by unnoticed. The LED screens can show animations, but also advertisements for Holland Casino.
Holland Casino once again opts for a motorway location near Venlo. In fact, the new Venlo location will be built on the A67 motorway. In the coming years, Holland Casino will increasingly choose a motorway location. The advantage of this location is that visitors do not have to go into the city first before visiting the casino. This has the advantage that there are somewhat more parking facilities. For instance, parking spaces will be built near the casino itself where visitors can park for free.
Holland Casino Venlo must also become the icon of the Netherlands. The first thing Germans or other tourists will soon see when they cross the border is the new Holland Casino. With this, the company hopes to build a real eye-catcher. Venlo itself hopes to become internationally known with the construction of the new location. Holland Casino's ambitions with the construction are incredibly high. The municipality therefore embraces the plans to build the new establishment along the motorway.
The designed building of 9,500 m2 will be built completely sustainably. An organic design was chosen here, creating a special appearance along the motorway. Apart from the LED lighting, several unique applications have been devised for sustainable construction.
For example, rainwater is collected via the roof and reused as grey water in the building. In addition, the building is built according to the cradle-to-cradle principle. 30% of the building consists of concrete reused from recent demolitions. In addition, as little concrete as possible is used.
The wood used for construction comes from sustainably managed forests. The walls, for example, are made of hollow wooden walls. These are filled with blow-in insulation to make the building as sustainable as possible.
Outside the construction of a land-based casino, Holland Casino is expected to work behind the scenes on an online casino. In 2021, the first licences will be handed out to companies in the Netherlands. From then on, casinos will be allowed to open their online branches. Holland Casino is expected to be one of the first companies to open an online branch.
