Postponed filing deadline Energy Saving Obligation

15 December 2023

Postponement deadline energy saving obligation companies 2023. Because there have been many glitches in the e-desk, a lot of companies and energy advisers cannot comply on time. Nationwide, it has been agreed that non-submission will not be enforced until 1 January 2024, giving companies an extra 1 month. Should companies believe that it is not feasible to meet the obligations by 1 January 2024, the company can submit a written reasoned request for postponement to the municipality.

Companies with energy consumption of more than 50,000 kWh or more than 25,000 m3 of gas are obliged to implement energy-saving measures that can be recovered within five years. Compliance is monitored by supervisors of the Regional Implementation Service Limburg North (RUDLN). They do this on behalf of all municipalities in north and central Limburg.

Every four years, these companies must report what energy-saving measures they have already taken and what measures they still need to take. This report must be submitted via the COE's e-desk. The statutory submission deadline for the second round of the information obligation expired on 1 December 2023.

Companies with an energy consumption greater than 10,000,000 kWh or more than 170,000 m3 of gas, in addition to the aforementioned information obligation, also have the obligation to carry out an energy saving study and submit the report via the e-counter of COE.
