To acquaint students early in their education with companies and professions in the Make and Smart industry in the region, the Centre for Innovative Expertise's (CIV) Factory Xperience Tour will be organised on Wednesday 17 April. Seven companies from this industry, will open their doors to first- and second-year students (metal and mechatronics studies) of Gilde Opleidingen in Venlo.
Factory Xperience Tour
On Wednesday 17 April, students from Gilde Opleidingen will visit seven companies active in the CIV for the Make and Smart Industry in groups. To familiarise them with both the real work in practice and the companies, they will get a look behind the scenes and work on assignments themselves. This allows first- and second-year students to discover early on what suits them best for the future.
The students will be taken to the companies in groups by a VDL coach and will each visit two companies from 09:15 to 17:15; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The companies participating in the Xperience are:
- Bruynzeel Storage Systems bv, Panningen
- Rena Castings bv, Maasbree
- Addit bv, Venlo
- VDL Konings, Swalmen
- Canon Production Printing, Venlo
- Mifa, Venlo
- Leolux, Venlo
CIV for the Make and Smart Industry
The CIV for the Make and Smart Industry is a partnership between the business community in North and Central Limburg and the educational institutions Gilde Opleidingen and Fontys Universities of Applied Sciences. Through practice-oriented educational programmes, students can develop into future employees with the right skills and knowledge of the latest technologies. Theory and practice go hand in hand to train students - guided by the best professionals - to become qualified technical professionals. The smart industry includes big data, 3D printing, Internet of Things and the cloud. And the manufacturing industry turns materials into new products.
