Evening rush hour on Dutch roads is expected to be busier than usual on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 April. Rijkswaterstaat therefore advises road users to head out outside rush hour and check your route in advance.
The A73 Tunnels will close at 7pm on Friday 26 April after the rush hour until 6am on Monday 29 April. During the weekend closure, diversion routes apply - follow the familiar yellow signs - via the A67, A2 and the N273. In Germany via the A61, see also the diversion maps below:
The second tunnel night closures are from Monday 13 to Saturday 18 May.

A73 Tunnel renovation Summer 2024
Rijkswaterstaat will start the second phase of major maintenance on the Roertunnel and Tunnel Swalmen (A73) this spring.
The first part of the work took place in 2023 and this year the renovation work will be completed during the summer months.
