A73: two extra weekends of major maintenance on the Roertunnel and Tunnel Swalmen . To complete the major maintenance work on the Roertunnel and Tunnel Swalmen (A73), the tunnels will be closed for a total of two more weekends at the end of January and February 2025. The first part of the work took place in 2023 and renovation work continued in 2024.
To minimise traffic disruption, the two weekend closures will be combined with the monthly scheduled closures for regular maintenance.
Regional and local diversion routes are in place during the works. Traffic will be diverted via the A67, A2 and the N273, follow the yellow signs on the road. Choose alternative transport where possible or try to avoid rush hours. During these 2 weekends, the tunnels will be closed in both directions:
- Friday 24 January 21:00 to Monday 27 January 2025 06:00
- Friday 21 February 21.00 to Monday 24 February 2025 06.00

- A73 closed between het Vonderen junction to Roermond-Oost junction (20)
- A73 closed between junction Roermond (19) and Beesel (18)
A73 southbound tunnels from Venlo to Maastricht closed:
- A73 closed between Tiglia junction and Belfeld junction (17)
- A73 closed between Beesel junction (18) and Roermond (19)
- A73 closed between Roermond-Oost junction (20) to Linne junction (21)
