Limburg middle class wants lower VAT like Germany

LIMBURG - Now that the German government has decided to cut VAT for six months to boost consumption, the Limburg middle class is also calling for the same VAT reduction.

The German government is allocating 130 billion euros in measures to stimulate the economy. The main measure is a temporary reduction in VAT: from 1 July to the end of the year, the high VAT rate will go from 19 to 16 per cent and the low VAT rate from 7 to 5 per cent.

Limburg
MKB-Limburg wants the same measure in line with Germany. The trade association for SMEs believes a level playing field is important. According to De Limburger, MKB-Limburg will forward a proposal for a reduction to MKB-Nederland next Friday. This will allow the lobby in political The Hague to be started.
