Noorderpoort Sustainable project for profile assignment

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Ondernemend Venlo heeft haar project Noorderpoort Duurzaam aangemeld als onderwerp voor een profielwerkstuk. Valuascollege en Brightlands Campus Green Venlo heeft een oproep gedaan aan bedrijven voor 100 onderwerpen.

Noorderpoort Sustainable
Entrepreneurial Venlo is actively working on making its business parks more sustainable. From the Innovation & Sustainability Committee, a working group called Noorderpoort Sustainable was started in September 2018. This working group currently consists of board members and committee chairs from Ondernemend Venlo, member companies, LWV, Rabobank, Venlo municipality and knowledge institutions.

Within the working group, businesses shared expertise on sustainability. Issues have been explored and concrete questions from entrepreneurs have been scrutinised. An integrated approach is proposed from the working group. At the level of business parks, it is not only about energy but also about the consequences of climate change (heavy rainfall, drought, heat stress) and sustainable and healthy buildings provide many benefits for employees and entrepreneurs.

Call for profile papers
Gaming, Instagramming, the latest iPhone or videos on YouTube. Most 16- and 17-year-olds like these things. But how do you introduce them to the companies and jobs in the Limburg region? Valuascollege and Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo have the answer: via profile assignments! They want to 'collect' 100 subjects for profile assignments from companies in the region for students to sink their teeth into.

With this collaboration, Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo aims to introduce high school students to Limburg companies and the good career prospects the region has to offer.

From the school desk
The profile paper is part of the school curriculum to ease the transition from secondary school to higher education. A student carries out a small research project independently or in a group and is tested on skills such as setting up a research project, experimenting, analysing, describing and presenting.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
