VENLO - The foundations PRO77 and Lodewijk van der Grinten Ondernemersprijs have made preparations in recent months to include PRO77 in the organisation of the LvdG Prize. The aim of the merger is to further strengthen the LvdG network within Venlo's entrepreneurial culture and involve the 'young professionals' in Venlo more in the event.
PRO77's activities were aimed at giving professionals under 35 a stage to inspire other young people and bind them more to the region. An annual award was presented to the leading young professional within the municipality of Venlo. An independent jury chose the winner from three nominees on the basis of distinctive and innovative capacity, decisiveness and perseverance. In addition, he or she had to make a positive contribution to Venlo society and be an inspiring example for other young professionals.
Merger
Peggy Leurs, chairman of the Lodewijk van der Grinten Entrepreneur Award Foundation explains the merger: "The above-mentioned jury criteria fit seamlessly with the characteristics that the jury of the Lodewijk van der Grinten Award looks at when assessing nominees. A merger between the two foundations was therefore a logical step for both parties. Especially given the intention of the LvdG Prize to pay more attention to young entrepreneurs within the municipality in addition to existing activities."
"Cooperation means a further strengthening of the entrepreneurial culture in Venlo. In this way, we create a larger network with distinctive and innovative entrepreneurs and professionals, something we as LvdG Price are very happy with," said Peggy Leurs.
The existing objectives of the Lodewijk van der Grinten Prize remain unchanged: connecting entrepreneurs, stimulating the business climate in Venlo with a specific focus on corporate social responsibility.
