From 26 February, KWS Infra Eindhoven will start carrying out asphalt maintenance work on behalf of the province of Limburg. This means that the N556 at Horst and Sevenum will be temporarily closed to traffic. Work on Stationsstraat, Meldersloseweg and Venloseweg will start on 26 February 2024 and will be completed by mid-May, provided there is no disruption due to weather conditions.
Work will be carried out on weekdays, i.e. Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 18:00. Naturally, we strive to minimise the inconvenience to you. The diversion for through traffic is shown on the flat with a purple arrow. The diversion will also be signposted.
The asphalt maintenance is divided into five different phases, which are subdivided into sub-phases to ensure accessibility. The image below shows the phases. Here, the yellow squares are the execution moments and if there is an R in here, this is a spare moment for this phase.
Accessibility Phase 1
While the work is being carried out, the work area will remain closed to through traffic. For residents/adjacent businesses, the work area will be accessible on the side where we are not working. There will be two days in sub-phase 1c on which you cannot access your home by car between 06:00 - 18:00. The adjacent properties will be contacted for exactly when this is.

While the work is being carried out, the work area will remain closed to through traffic. Adjacent businesses will have access to the work area on the side where we are not working. Accessibility to the petrol station and the car garage will thus be guaranteed.

During the execution of the work, the work area will remain closed to through traffic. Further arrangements will be made with the contractor for adjacent properties that only have access via the provincial road.

Accessibility Phase 4
While the work is being carried out, a section of the slip road 11 Horst will always remain open to traffic. This will therefore be the east or west side. The other half will remain closed to traffic. Cyclists will be guided by traffic controllers along the work area.

Accessibility Phase 5
During the execution of the work, the work area will remain closed to through traffic. Further arrangements will be made with the contractor for adjacent properties that only have access via the provincial road. We aim to ensure that one side of the work area remains accessible as indicated by the black line in the middle of the work area.
There will be a time when the entire work area of phase 5 will not be passable to traffic from 06:00 - 18:00. When exactly this is we will communicate with the resident/adjacent businesses in good time.
