Course on circularity for SMEs

08 October 2024

The circular economy is starting to play an increasingly important role in our business environment. That is why the Venlo municipality, in cooperation with Fontys and Volantis, is organising the course 'Circularity for SMEs in Venlo'. The course is particularly aimed at (manufacturing) industry and construction.

The Netherlands Circular in 2050 programme sets clear targets. The first goal is to use 50% fewer primary raw materials by 2030. In addition, companies and their chains start reporting on sustainability through the CSRD. As a result, more and more companies and organisations are exploring and applying circular principles in their operations. This requires an increased level of knowledge among employees and cooperation to arrive at (innovative) solutions.

Venlo municipality offers a course on circularity for local businesses to increase knowledge, encourage circular cooperation and support companies to take circular steps. Some practical issues:

  • The course includes a joint start with the participating companies. This is followed by an individual part in which there will be a Maturity Scan is carried out for each company. This scan provides insight into circular opportunities with which an action plan is drawn up with short-term and long-term goals. The course concludes with a joint final meeting in which each company explains its action plan.
  • The course is open to Venlo SMEs that are in the early stages of applying circular principles in their operations.
  • Dates will be scheduled by mutual agreement. Participation in the course is free of charge. Attendance at the meetings is compulsory.

Only a limited number of spots are available! For more information and to register, please contact the Venlo Municipality: Tom Dinnessen, business contact officer at t.dinnessen@venlo.nl . Applications can be made until no later than 14 November 2024.
