Strukton Wegen & Beton will carry out work on the Zuiderbrug in Venlo A73 HRL from Thursday 17 to Monday 21 October on behalf of the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management. A regular inspection has shown that the asphalt is in poor condition and needs to be replaced as soon as possible.
As a result, the A73 between Zaarderheiken interchange and exit Venlo-Zuid (16) in the direction of Maastricht will be closed to through traffic from Thursday 17 October 21.00 to Monday 21 October 2024 05.00. At the same time, the parallel lane of the A73 near the Zaarderheiken interchange in the direction of Maastricht will be closed. Please allow for extra travel time.
These emergency works also affect local traffic. For example, there are several temporary closures at the Zaarderheiken junction during these works.
A73 closure
The A73 will be closed from Thursday 17 October 21.00 to Monday 21 October 2024 05.00 between Zaarderheiken interchange and exit Venlo-Zuid (16) in the direction of Maastricht:

The A67/A73 link road near the Zaarderheiken junction from Germany towards Maastricht is closed:
- Friday 18 October 06:00 to 20:00
- Saturday 19 October 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday 20 October 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The A73 parallel lane near the Zaarderheiken junction from Nijmegen towards Venlo is closed:
- Friday 18 October 06:00 to 20:00
- Saturday 19 October 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday 20 October 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
A73 diversions
Traffic near the Zaarderheiken interchange in the direction of Maastricht will be diverted via the A67 and the A2.
Traffic at the Zaarderheiken junction in the direction of A74 Monchengladbach will be diverted via the A67, the A40 (DE) and the A57 (DE).
Traffic at the Zaarderheiken interchange in the direction of Roermond will be diverted via the A67, the A40(DE), the B221(DE) and the A52(DE).
Traffic near Maasbree towards Roermond will be diverted via the N273 and the N280.

Passage of emergency services:
Throughout the implementation period, the A73 HRL will also be open to emergency and emergency services concluded. Alternative routes for this will be discussed in a separate NH consultation.
