Dunning letters from BsGW hit the letterbox at the end of August

18 August 2020

From 28 August, BsGW will start sending reminders, letting individuals and business owners know that an amount is still outstanding. These relate to all taxes for the municipalities and water board affiliated to BsGW. There are additional costs associated with this reminder If there is no response or payment, an enforcement order will follow later in the year. Given the exceptional situation, BsGW recently already sent - once - a free payment reminder. This has ensured that the assessment has been brought to the attention again.

Dunning to avoid?
Have you not yet paid all of BsGW's assessments and do not have a payment extension? Then try to pay as soon as possible or request a payment schedule. You have until 22 August to do this. If BsGW has not received your payment or request for a payment arrangement by this date, a reminder with the associated costs will be sent to you.

Gradual launch of recovery process
Due to the corona crisis, BsGW had temporarily suspended the local tax collection process. This means that no reminders and/or penalty notices were sent in the recent period. In addition, no bailiff activities took place either. In order to accommodate private individuals and entrepreneurs during this crisis, BsGW temporarily granted entrepreneurs deferred payment on the tax assessments sent. Collection by direct debit was also temporarily suspended.

Now that the government's measures regarding corona have been relaxed somewhat again, BsGW is gradually restarting the collection process, understanding individuals and entrepreneurs who have been financially affected by the corona crisis.

Questions
The reminder will tell you how to pay. On the BsGW website you can read the answers to the most frequently asked questions. Via your personal page you can respond if you want to ask a question. Of course, telephone contact is also possible. BsGW can be reached daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. via: 088-8420420. They will be happy to help you. It may be that during this period it is slightly busier than usual, which means you have to wait longer. BsGW requests your understanding for this.
