On 16 October, construction work officially started on the new Holland Casino Venlo. This happened during the festive ceremony attended by among others the mayor of Venlo; Mr Scholten, Erwin van Lambaart (CEO Holland Casino) and Noël Leise (Regional Director Southern Netherlands of Holland Casino). Together with two Holland Casino Venlo employees, they pressed the button that drilled the first pile into the ground. The new Holland Casino to be built in Venlo will soon be among the most modern and innovative casinos in Europe. The LED facade of the spectacular design was recently nominated for World Architecture Festival (WAF) prize to be awarded in November. The casino is expected to open in the first half of 2020.
LANDMARK
With a height of 25 metres and eye-catching all-sided LED lighting, the new casino is a landmark in the region that will not go unnoticed. Holland Casino in Venlo embraces the municipal cradle-to-cradle ambitions and aims for sustainable solutions for the new casino to be built on the Floralaan.
