Limburg strengthens logistics sector. From 1 January 2025, the European Logistics Centre Limburg (ELC Limburg) and Supply Chain Valley will continue together as one strong Limburg organisation. This merger marks a milestone in the development of the logistics sector in Limburg and brings unprecedented synergy within the logistics ecosystem.

Cooperation for a future-proof logistics sector
ELC Limburg has proven itself over the past 25 years as the consultation platform with now more than 100 logistics organisations in the region. From the Human Capital, Multimodality, Innovation & Sustainability, and Strategy, Marketing & Branding committees, ELC Limburg has worked to strengthen and promote the logistics sector.

Supply Chain Valley, formed from the merger of Smart Logistics Centre Venlo and SCV 1.0, has introduced a unique cooperation model. With strong links between companies, educational institutions, governments and the region, Supply Chain Valley has proven its strength in innovation, talent development and cross-border cooperation.

The merger combines the expertise, networks and facilities of both organisations and paves the way for a wider impact not only in Limburg, but also in neighbouring regions such as East Brabant and the 350-km border area.

The strategic fit between ELC Limburg and Supply Chain Valley is clear:
- Joint vision and objectives - Both organisations share the ambition to promote innovation, sustainability and talent development and strengthen Limburg as a logistics hotspot.
- Strong networks - Together, they represent more than 2,800 logistics companies, with crossovers to manufacturing and agri-food.
- Euroregional focus - Together, they focus on Limburg's logistics ecosystem, with expansion into East Brabant and cross-border cooperation.
- Limburg broad visibility - The new organisation will be broadly active and visible in Limburg, with representation in all regions and a focus on local and cross-border collaborations.
- Complementary remedies - From training facilities to innovation hubs, the organisations reinforce each other with their infrastructure.

Concrete benefits of the merger:
- Knowledge sharing: A Limburg-wide exchange of best practices and innovative solutions.
- Joint projects: Organising events, trainings and conferences to strengthen the industry.
- Talent development: Joint programmes such as internships, traineeships and training.
- Lobbying power: One powerful voice to promote policy change and investment.
- Sustainability and innovation: Circular logistics and digital transformation initiatives accelerated.

New era: supply chain valley Limburg
The integration process started some time ago, with an integration team with representatives from both organisations working on the merger. After intensive preparations, the new organisation will go public from 1 January 2025 under the name Supply Chain Valley Limburg. This name reflects the joint ambition to position Limburg as the European hotspot for logistics, innovation and sustainability.

This merger creates the largest Quattro Helix organisation in Limburg, in which companies, governments, knowledge institutions and society jointly build a future-proof logistics sector.

Future plans
The joint organisation will focus on strengthening initiatives such as the Limburg Rail Cargo Community, the Blue Ports Limburg Community and the Maastricht Aachen Airport Community. It will also focus on cross-border cooperation and international growth, with a focus on innovation, sustainability and human capital.

The new organisation will guarantee a strong Limburg-wide presence, with active participation and visibility in all regions. This will involve the entire province of Limburg in the development and promotion of its logistics ecosystem.
