Expedition 'Circularity & sustainability'

22 November 2024

More and more clients and consumers demand sustainable products and services, and stakeholders also want attention to be paid to this. Therefore, sustainability and, within that, circularity is becoming an increasingly important theme for entrepreneurs. But how do you bring this into your organisation's strategy? And how can you implement this in practice? Are there perhaps also opportunities to make your production circular? How do you develop a circular food system or add value to residual and waste streams? Do you too want to translate various sustainability aspects into practical (innovative) improvements within your company (operations) in the field of circularity? Then take part in the Circularity & Sustainability Expedition. Your innovation worked out together with HAS green academy.

With a HAS expert as project leader and a team of fourth-year students, you will research and work out your challenge or idea. During the expedition, there are four moments when you meet with this team, but also with other expedition participants, to gain feedback on your project and gain knowledge. This expedition is meant for all SMEs active in food, agro and living environment. You do this in the form of development sessions. The expedition can be partly subsidised by the LIOF collective project LimburgToekomstbestendig. Do you work for an SME in Limburg? Then you can claim 75% relief via the LIOF Collective Project LimburgToekomstbestendig.

The power of the collective

During the project, there are four development sessions, appropriate to the phase of the project. The sessions are as follows:
- Development session 1: In the start-up phase, during this session you will meet the other participants from the expedition and pitch your issue to each other to gather feedback, before entering the research phase.
- Development session 2: The remaining sessions take place during the research phase (18 weeks). Session 2 aims for you as an entrepreneur to present your issue and the plan of action that the students have drawn up to the other participants of the expedition.
- Development session 3: Informative meeting adapted to the participating topics. Here you will also receive feedback again from the other participants from the expedition.
- Development session 4: In the last session, there is the final presentation by the students and you decide what the next steps should look like.

Each session is adapted to the projects currently participating. These include lectures, student presentations and workshops. Development sessions are 3 hours in length. Subject to schedules, sessions will be held from 2pm - 5pm.
