VENLO - The Tradeport Noord sustainable business park has had the most powerful solar roof in the world since October 2020: on the roof of PVH Corp.
The most powerful solar roof, located on top of Heylen Warehouses' Venlo Logistic Campus, is now fully operational. The first solar panel of the total 48,040 was laid in early February. It covers a size of some 20 football pitches.
A capacity of 18 MegaWatt peak of renewable power. That's enough to power around 4,500 households for a year, as well as reduce CO2 emissions by up to 12,000 tonnes annually. An extraordinary green project, which in reality will mainly provide power for the VE Logistic Campus under the solar roof and surrounding buildings.
Celebrated
In the current circumstances, this could not be celebrated with all the accompanying bells and whistles but a different and instructive interpretation was given : a panel discussion with Alderman Erwin Boom Municipality of Venlo, with Program Manager Renewable Energy, Marco Iacovella and CEO, Philippe Deschilder of Heylen Warehouses.
