VENLO - The Limburgs Museum invites you to the opening of the video installation A Stage of Luminosity on Thursday evening 17 September next on the square in front of the Limburgs Museum. It is the first art project that will be on display in the new Museum Quarter at Keulsepoort in Venlo.
A Stage of Luminosity is a crossover between cultural heritage and new media. At the invitation of Viewmaster Projects, artist Arno Coenen has created two
created video works in which the digitised image archive of the Limburg glass studio Frans Nicolas en Zn. comes to life.
Video works
The two video works, projected on a nearly 14-metre-high and four-metre-wide column on the Cologne Gate, are a contemporary tribute to the ancient craft and skill of Limburg stained-glass artists. The art project is a
layered visual story in which light and colour play a leading role alongside themes of faith, hope, love and death.
Especially for the opening, Laserforum from Venlo, courtesy of Venlo Municipality, will add an additional visual element to the art installation. The opening will take place in the public space in compliance with the applicable guidelines around
corona.
