A selection of German students from Fontys started the study 'Cross-border entrepreneurship' launched by the internationalisation committee. The survey complements the tool Internationalisation scan / Germany scan - Internationalisierungsscan and aims to motivate and inspire Dutch entrepreneurs to take a 360-degree view with regard to Doing Business in Germany. Also, the research should help entrepreneurs who already do business across the border to develop further.
Many Dutch entrepreneurs also want to do business in Germany, but unfortunately it often remains an intention. There are also entrepreneurs who are completely unaware of the opportunities that doing business in the neighbouring country can offer them. Therefore, the internationalisation committee of Entrepreneurial Venlo commissioned a study into the obstacles and opportunities entrepreneurs experience in the field of cross-border entrepreneurship in the region.
Questions for the committee include:
- What forms of cross-border business exist?
- Why do entrepreneurs undertake cross-border or not?
- Are there differences and similarities in terms of cross-border entrepreneurship between the different municipalities within the euregio rhine-maas-north?
The already existing tool 'The Germany Scan / der Niederlande Scan' was co-developed by the internationalisation committee. The student survey aims to serve the tool's users even better by, among other things, connecting them with other entrepreneurs. In addition, they want to get a better picture of the cross-border nature of the entrepreneurial landscape in this cross-border region. Thus, this student assignment, which has now started, strengthens the already existing tool. More info on 'The Germany Scan / der Niederlande Scan' can be found at: Internationalisation scan / Germany scan - Internationalisierungsscan
The study 'Cross-border entrepreneurship' will take place between March and November 2024.
