Business Investment Zone (BIZ)

The companies in Venlo's business parks are united in a BIZ. With almost 1,300 member companies, this makes us one of the largest BIZ zones in the Netherlands. This offers a unique cooperation between the Venlo entrepreneurs, the municipality and other important stakeholders. The BIZ actively invests in an attractive and safe environment, shared goals and smart solutions. The result? More opportunities for growth and a strong economic impulse for Venlo.

The BIZ offers companies in Venlo numerous specific benefits that contribute to their success and growth:

  • Joint investments: We join forces to enable collective initiatives such as improvements in infrastructure, security and branding of our city and region.
  • Security and maintenance: Investments in e.g. camera surveillance, lighting and maintenance make the area safer, more attractive and pleasant to work in.
  • Higher attractiveness: The joint approach increases the attractiveness of the business parks, which can attract more activity and where new opportunities arise.
  • Fair cost sharing: Everyone within the BIZ contributes, ensuring that the financial burden is shared fairly.
  • Bigger budget: The joint effort means more budget is available for projects that are difficult to achieve individually.
  • Co-funding: Based on shared objectives, key projects are jointly funded with Venlo municipality, providing additional resources to achieve common goals.

By joining forces, our entrepreneurs benefit from a stronger business environment and sustainable economic growth.

Waste & environment

Waste

For many small (office) businesses, the rules laid down in the waste guide are sufficient. For business owners in the city centre or on the industrial estates, separate rules apply. For example, paper and cardboard are collected weekly in the city centre.

The waste calendar shows when, where, what waste is collected.https://www.venlo.nl/afvalkalender

Companies are responsible for disposing of their own industrial waste. They must contact a waste collector for this themselves.

Environment

In some cases, companies must submit an environmental notification via the website of Activities Decree Internet Module https://www.aimonline.nl/

Use of public space

Entrepreneurs wishing to carry out work and place, for example, a container, mobile toilet (Dixi), shelters or scaffolding in the public space need an exemption throughout the municipality. This also applies if the road, cycle path and/or pavement are used entirely or partially and if fences are placed around a construction site. Parking

If a business is located in a blue zone, in an area subject to paid parking or in the closed part of the city centre, a parking permit can be applied for the business owner and his employees. A parking permit is subject to fees. View the options for a parking permit https://www.venlo.nl/vergunning-voor-bedrijven-en-medewerkers

If a business is located within the area paid parking, closed area or in a blue zone, visitors can use the visitor parking scheme. Based on the license plate, a visitor is then given rights to park. Check out the options for visitors; https://www.venlo.nl/regeling-voor-bezoekers

Of course, visitors and customers can always use the various car parks or car parks in the city. To enter the closed part of the city centre, an annual waiver can be applied for under certain circumstances. A waiver is subject to charges.
