What makes Venlo....
A programme about pride, opportunity and collaboration.
In November and December, Omroep Venlo will broadcast a six-part business TV series entitled What makes Venlo.... For this programme, the broadcaster partnered with Fontys International Business School, Rabobank Venlo e.o., Municipality of Venlo and Ondernemend Venlo. From the proudly portrayed perspective that the municipality of Venlo already has plenty of business activity and houses many pearls on its industrial estates, the viewer is taken through fascinating and open discussions to where even more opportunities lie in the future.
From now to the future
In short films, reporter Kylian Slenter shows the viewer that the landscape of companies and organisations in the municipality of Venlo harbours many pearls; companies that are leaders in their own niche with a lot of entrepreneurial spirit, decisiveness and innovative capacity. Pearls that are unknown to the bulk of the population and, by showing them off, will garner admiration and appreciation. From the positive image of today, the programmes build a bridge to the future. From the joint goal of stabilising leading positions and allowing them to grow further, they look at where the opportunities, possibilities, but also the challenges to be tackled lie to achieve this. Involved parties from business, politics, education as well as young students will discuss this with presenter Frans Pollux. For this purpose, six programmes were recorded in a unique TV-setting in Villa Flora at the end of October.
Six themes
Venlo is now Europe's logistics hotspot. What do we need to do to still be that in ten years' time? Wonderful to see how many pearls we already have within the manufacturing industry. But are we at our limit or are there many more opportunities and where do they lie?
What makes Venlo healthy, sustainable and unique? The answer can be seen for six weeks from Monday 4 November, with repeats on Sundays. What makes Venlo... will also be shown online via the channels of Omroep Venlo and its partners.
