Building a sustainable future together - Column

At the LLTB's agribusiness meeting recently, I presented our latest ambition: the AgriFoodCommunity. A initiative that not only strengthens us as a sector, but also puts Limburg on the map as a leader in sustainable agriculture and food innovation. The large turnout and positive reactions underlined that we are on the right track together. Because as agricultural entrepreneurs, we know better than anyone: only by working together can we really make an impact. The challenges we face are no small ones. Climate change, the transition to circularity and ensuring food security require innovative solutions. Solutions that advance not only the agricultural sector, but also society. At the AgriFoodCommunity, entrepreneurs come together with knowledge institutions and policymakers to realise exactly that: projects with long-term impact.

Why now? Because standing still is not an option. Limburg has played a prominent role in Dutch food production and innovation for years. With our strong position, we have the opportunity - nay, the responsibility - to stay ahead. By working together on technologies, sustainable farming methods and circular projects, we make our sector future-proof and socially relevant.

What makes the AgriFoodCommunity unique is its entrepreneurial nature. The are the farmers and gardeners as well as entrepreneurs around the agribusiness sector who are at the helm. She set the direction and take the lead in the initiatives that emerge from the community. The LLTB supports, connects and facilitates. With our networks, knowledge and resources, we bring parties together, organise meetings and ensure that good ideas become reality. Me look forward to seeing how this community takes root, grows and flourishes. How ideas become reality. How we make a difference together - for our companies, for Limburg and for the world around us.

I invite you to join us. To contribute your knowledge, experience and ideas. As we sow together, we also reap together and make Limburg stronger.
