On 10 April last, the TPZ department and its members visited the Ketelruimte in Steyl. While enjoying a good piece of flan, the members were updated on the latest developments within Entrepreneurial Venlo. Cas Dings, chairman a.i. particularly about the issues at play in Tegelen and Belfeld. Park Manager Nicky Verhaagh and Operations Manager René Dings about the new strategic plans of Ondernemend Venlo, about the new communication platform Bundeling and about the support measurement of the BIZ.
A short presentation followed on the 150th anniversary of monastery village Steyl. This will be celebrated grandly with all the volunteers. Lots of fun activities are planned. This can be found at www.steyl150.nl
We then delved into the history of the fathers and nuns at Steyl. An interesting presentation on the origins and flourishing of the monasteries was followed by a tour of the boiler house and cellars where the various professions of the fathers were depicted.
The afternoon ended with convivial drinks.
