Cooperation with Venlo municipality in 5 projects

10 December 2024

Entrepreneurial Venlo and the Venlo municipality signed a covenant on 4 December. The covenant concerns cooperation in five projects in the areas of labour market, business parks, security and internationalisation. The agreements apply from 2024 to 2026 and the costs are shared equally: 50% will be borne by the municipality and 50% by Entrepreneurial Venlo.

"A stronger labour market, innovative companies and better cooperation make our city even more liveable and attractive," says councillor Erwin Boom. Between 2020 and 2023, we have previously successfully implemented three similar covenants. The new projects make our region more future-proof. Think better education, safer business parks, and new jobs thanks to startups, among others. This is not only an investment in the economy, but in the quality of our daily lives."

Lizbeth van den Boogaard (VOV), Peter Pardoel (SSCV), Ingrid Vermeer(BCGV) and Alderman Erwin Boom were present at the signing.

The Venlo municipality also signed new covenants with Supply Chain Valley Foundation (SSCV) and Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo (BCGV) on 4 December 2024. With Supply Chain Valley Foundation, the focus is on research, innovation and education. With Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo, the focus is on a Startup Challenge to encourage young entrepreneurs.

Economic Vision 2030 and Development Agenda
The Economic Vision 2030 focuses not only on financial growth, but also on welfare. The vision is given concrete expression in the Development Agenda Economic Vision 2024-2030, with the above eight projects that contribute to what the municipality calls "broad prosperity development." Broad prosperity is not only about money, but also about well-being, living environment, and opportunities for all. The Development Agenda puts this into practice by working with entrepreneurs and educational institutions. This strengthens cluster networks and increases innovation power. This benefits residents, businesses and the future of the region.
