Logistics companies open doors

01 September 2018

On the initiative of SMART Logistics Centre Venlo, a tour of four logistics companies in Venlo will take place on Wednesday 5 September for students and benefit recipients. The aim is to show that it is challenging and varied to work in this sector. The sector is also struggling with a staff shortage.

The companies taking part in the tour are Verhoex Customs Service, Ewals Cargo Care, Seacon and KLG Europe. They want to show that there is an increasing amount of specialised knowledge in logistics and a lot of innovation going on. This is also necessary for the Venlo-Venray region to remain at the top on a European and global level. Furthermore, they provide insight into what is involved when goods enter the Netherlands from the Far East or South America via our seaports and are eventually delivered to consumers' homes.

The companies will receive about 300 students from vmbo, mbo, hbo and university from the region and about 50 lateral entrants from the Werkgevers Service Punt Noord-Limburg on Wednesday 5 September.
